First Ray (Oil and Acrylic on mdf) -
This painting is one from a collection of 6 others inspired by a sunrise hike I went on this summer with several teenage girls from our church group. We were at girls camp and hiked to the top of the mountain early in the morning, and waited for the sunrise to come. As we admired God's beautiful creations in the mountains at dawn, our group came up with different analogies of Jesus and the sunrise. It was a spiritually strengthening experience. I recommend this exercise, as there are many symbolic truths that can be found when pondering this topic.

This painting is the moment that I turned away from the sun's rays and appreciated the warm glow that directly lit up a grove of trees in the distance.
About the Artist: I find great value in sharing my art with others. I believe strongly that we are doing a disservice to God and the world when we do not share the gifts and talents we have been given. There are lives we can lift, people we can bless, and goodness we must share. Besides making art, I stay busy raising my 4 teenagers with my husband Mike, and serving the youth in my church. Our family enjoys hiking and finding new outdoor adventures together.
